Abstract: Twenty-two-years-old and newly graduated from college, the author and her husband set out on an adventure to Afghanistan. It is 1948, just three years after World War II and a year after the bloody Partition of India and Pakistan, and Ghandhi's assassination. It a time of distrust. Many Afghans want to modernize and see education in English as the key. The author and her husband are hired by The Royal Afghan Government to teach. This is their story.
