Summary: “The over-arching developmental goal of the proposed Afghanistan Rural Enterprise Development Program is to “improve employment and income of men and women in the rural areas of Afghanistan, and sustainability of targeted local enterprises.” The program is divided into two key components and one support component. The two program components are Community-based Enterprise Development which provides knowledge-base and financial services to community based rural enterprises, and SME Development which provides business advisory and financial services to rural SMEs.
