Summary : Harvest is the most labor demanding activity in fruit production if it is implemented manually. Using machinery for harvest is only suitable for a few fruit types. The time for harvest very much depends on what purpose the fruit will be used for. The main concept for the establishment of a harvesting time is to measure the maturity stage of the fruit and according to that, establish the proper time. There are a couple of methods for establishing a time estimate (p. 65).
