Summary, etc Summary “Small loans can reduce extreme rural poverty. As in Bangladesh, rural women in peninsular Malaysia lifted their families out of poverty, using their own skills in their own projects. All they needed was capital in the form of small loans, delivered to their door step. Small loans on reasonable terms to very poor households for financing additional income-generating activities, can be an effective and efficient way to reduce extreme rural poverty in peninsular Malaysia, as well as in Bangladesh…”—(summary page).
